Lead with Planning

Selecting the right investments is important, but achieving a dollar amount on a statement is not the same as living your dreams. Your financial plan is the centerpiece that drives all recommendations and investment decisions. By leading with planning, we stay focused on helping make your goals and dreams a reality.

The Right Expertise

At many firms, you’ll initially meet with a senior partner, but you’ll end up working with junior staff. Not at Swell…you’ll always work directly with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who has experience helping hundreds of people plan their futures.

Attention to Taxes

It’s not what you earn, it’s what you keep. Many people end up paying more than their fair share in taxes each year or fail to take advantage of strategic tax planning. At Swell, we’ll review your tax returns to look for opportunities to save and plan. That way, any savings found can help you achieve your goals faster.

Robert and Linda – Nearing Retirement

When will we have enough to retire?

Robert and Linda got a late start on saving and investing as they were busy raising a family and putting their kids through college. Over the past 10 years, they have been aggressively maxing out their respective 401(k) and 403(b) plans, paying extra on their mortgage and dreaming of moving out of state one day to be closer to their kids and grandchildren.

For them, they wanted to know how much longer they were going to need to save and when they would be able to finally afford to retire; especially considering inflation and taxes.

Life was going to change quite drastically within the next 5 years and they needed a plan to account for all the moving pieces today and also for all the changes to come in retirement such as understanding Linda’s CalSTRS pension, drawing income from their portfolios, and how these events would impact their Social Security and Medicare.

Charles and Sandy - Making Work Optional

Can we really afford to retire early and walk away?

Charles and Sandy are empty nesters who love what they do for a living. Charles is a respected Author and Speaker, and Sandy is in Upper-Level Management having worked her way up the career ladder over the past 30 years.

They’re both finally at the top of their respective fields with no end in sight. At this point in their lives and careers, it’s now less about income and more about impact and leadership.

They recognize that they are in a great place and could keep this up indefinitely.

More than anything, Charles and Sandy are curious about when they could afford to start scaling back to working part-time and begin traveling more, serving on various boards, and afford to make work optional.

Nick Covyeau, CFP®

Owner and Financial Planner

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege and opportunity to work with just about every shape and size of financial firm out there: from big, corporate giants to small, private independent wealth firms.  Some charged clients commission, some were fee-only, and some were a combination of the two.  But they all had one thing in common: not enough emphasis on the clients achieving their goals.

In 2021, I launched Swell Financial to help you reimagine your relationship with money, so it’s easier to achieve your goals and feel confident about your future.

Life is complicated enough; your money doesn’t have to be.
